This intriguing program explores four different dialogues between cello and piano. Beginning with Debussyˇ¦s whimsical Sonata, the duo dances through Spain and then Argentina to end up in a multi-faceted conversation in the form of Brittenˇ¦s Cello Sonata. Each piece on the program highlights different tonal colors and expressive possibilities of the two instruments. Kanae Matsumoto returns to the series after a successful concert with Jacque Israelievitch last season.
